success WITHOUT prayer??

Here was no timetable nor a room designated for PRAYERS in the School. The School was 'secular', hence prayers were not supposed to be allowed.

After being interviewed and accepted by the school administration, the eager teaching prospect said in protest: "Let me see if I have got this right?"

You want me to go into that room with all those kids and fill their every waking moment with a love for learning. And I'm supposed to instill a sense of pride in their ethnicity, modify their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse and even censor their T-shirt messages and dress habits.

You want me to wage a war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, check their backpacks for weapons of mass destruction, and raise their self-esteem.

You want me to teach them firm belief in God, patriotism, good citizenship, sportsmanship, and fair play, how and where to register to vote, how to balance a checkbook, and how to apply for a job.

I am to check their heads for lice, maintain a safe environment, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, offer advice, write letters of recommendation for student employment and scholarships, and encourage respect for their elders and future employers.

And I am to communicate regularly with the parents by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.

All of this I am to do with just a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a few books, a bulletin board, and a big smile AND on a starting salary that qualifies my family for food stamps!

You want me to do all of this, and you expect me NOT TO PRAY.

You expect me not to pray when Noble Qur'an says: "Nay, seek (Allah's) help with patient perseverance and PRAYER: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit". (Surah Baqarah 2:45).

"O my Lord! Make me and my children among those who establish prayers". (Surah Ibrahim 14:40)

"Indeed it is the Prayers, which helps to refrain from indecent acts and evils". (Surah Ankabut 29:45)

You want me to do all of this and you expect me not to pray when SUCCESS of every one depends on Prayers. Noble Qur'an says that successful believers are: "...... those who are punctual in their prayers". (Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:9)

Dear sir, since I am sure that I will not be able to fulfill your expectations, nor I will be successful in my career WITHOUT prayers, "I resign willingly from the post".

The Administrator looked down for a while then suddenly declared: "Young man, go ahead with your job. You have taught me a very important lesson today: Without prayers and help from God, no work is a success. We shall make special arrangements for prayers from today".

Sharpening skills (for teachers)

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees. The first day, the woodcutter brought fifteen (15) trees.
"Congratulations," the boss said, "Carry on with your work!"

Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring ten (10) trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring seven (7) trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.

"I must be losing my strength." The woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
"When was the last time you sharpened your axe?" the boss asked.

"Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees..."

Moral of the Story: Most of us never update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.

The traveller and plane tree

Two men were walking along one summer day. Soon it became too hot to go any further and, seeing a large plane tree nearby, they threw themselves on the ground to rest in its shade.

Gazing up into the branches one man said to the other: "What a useless tree this is. It does not have fruit or nuts that we can eat and we cannot even use its wood for anything."
"Don't be so ungrateful," rustled the tree in reply. "I am being extremely useful to you at this very moment, shielding you from the hot sun. And you call me a good-for-nothing!"

Moral: All of God's creations have a good purpose. Islam teaches us that we should never belittle Allah's blessings.

When Allah grants your prayers ...

Yes, it is wonderful when you pray fervently for something and you get it! It is a very nice feeling to be sure that even if no one else does, there is one being who never fails to listen to you and grants you whatever you want. Wait, there is a catch here. Allah does give you what you want but very rarely does He give when you want it and in the way you want it.

For instance, highest scores in an examination are got but best friend has got alienated in the process; you get to buy the beautiful dress you were eyeing from many days and find that it doesn't suit you at all but suits your sister perfectly; lot of wealth and fame is earned but when the parents are no longer there or are not capable of accompanying the child to his celebratory parties; the perfect house with the garden gets readied but the children want to go abroad and settle there ... You get the trend.

The Holy Prophet of Islam (saw) has said,
'Desire is the root cause of all evil'. Hence you think 'Let me not desire for anything. I will accept whatever God gives me'. But ... hasn't Allah (SWT) said, 'Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)'

Doesn't that mean that unless you ask, you won't get anything? As the saying goes, unless the baby cries, the mother doesn't feed it. So should the baby cry or keep quiet? Probably the answer could be that the baby should cry when it feels hungry and keep quiet after it is given something, no matter whether it is milk or water or watery milk.

And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls on Me, so they should answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way. Noble Qur'an (2:186)

And your Lord says: "Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer): but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell - in humiliation!" Noble Qur'an (40:60)

In this Holy verse, Allah (SWT) considers Dua as prayers, that is to say, if someone speaks to his Lord, he has performed prayer and those who do not pray are considered as unbelievers.

Say: My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer; Noble Qur'an (25:77)

Imam Ali (as) says: "Allah (SWT) doesn't answer the prayer of a person whose prayer doesn't come from his heart." Therefore, one should pray from the depths of his heart and should have a conviction that Allah (SWT) will fulfill his wish.

Imam Sadiq (as) says: when a person wants Allah (SWT) to help him in times of difficulty, he must make it a habit to supplicate to Allah (SWT) before any such difficulty arises. He should not present himself to Allah (SWT) as a total stranger when he needs help.

Imam Sadiq (as) says: the creature nearest to Allah (SWT) is one who, while prostrating in prayer, cries and if he has lost hope of his prayer getting answered he should raise his hands towards the Heaven as if importuning Allah (SWT) for granting his wish.

A story of mayonnaise, golf ball, sand and coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things, your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

WORDS THAT MADE ME STRONGER..

Sometimes Allah breaks our spirit
to save our soul,
He breaks our heart to make us whole,
He sends us pain
so we can be stronger,
He sends us failure so we can be humble,
He sends us illness so we can take care of ourselves,

sometimes,
God takes everything away from us
so we can learn the value of everything He gave us,
.....Allah is great!
REALLY GREAT!!

Keep sabar and our iman.
Allah knows what's best for us!
May Allah bless us all!
-Ameen-

Anak-anak Penyejuk Mata (Qurratu A'yun)

macam2 gelagat anak-anak, walaupun kadang2 rasa nak marah bila anak-anak menangis menjerit-jerit,hentak-hentak kaki berguling-guling dalam pasar raya bila nak mainan kesukaan, tapi sebenarnya merekalah penawar hati, permata keluarga dan penyejuk mata..

Menyesal

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

Sukan Tahunan SMKPJI

alhamdulillah..selesai sudah waktu2 genting dalam kalendar sekolah..tp lepas ni kena tumpu exam plak..
KENANGA menang, tp aku tak gembira langsung..kesal dengan sikap lepas tangan pelajar dan guru2 yg terlibat..semua tanggungjawab diletakkan TOTALLY di atas guru yang bergelar KETUA GURU RUMAH SUKAN setiap tahun...oo jadi inilah budayanya. setiap tahun perkara berulang, sebab bila mana2 guru yang malang tahun tu, hanya dia akan bertungkus lumus..

bila dah letakkan tugas dan agihkan..nak laksanakan tugas tu..banyaknya alasan guru2...entahla, mungkin dah jadi budaya..setiap guru yg mungkin lepas tangan dah merasa apa aku rasa, jadi mereka membiarkan aku rasa apa yg mereka rasa..dan aku pulak memikirkan untuk membiarkan apa KETUA GURU tahun depan rasa apa yang aku rasa..hermm patutkah aku?entahla..harap2 aku dapat kekuatan utk menukar budaya tu jadi lebih baik, insya Allah...

karenah birokrasi..

MEAN!!
the only word that can describe the result of 'karenah birokrasi' in the school. this is what happen to all the GSTT (Guru sandaran tidak terlatih) nowadays..nasib mereka dicampak bagai bola tenis..ke sana ke mari..sedangkan mereka juga adalah manusia, bahkan beban kerja guru sebenar adakala dibebankan lebih ke atas bahu mereka, sedangkan mereka tak terlatih. mereka hanya membantu mengisi kekosongan guru yang ada.
